Structured Literacy Intervention

Structured literacy is a clear, step-by-step way of teaching reading and spelling. It is especially helpful for students with dyslexia and other literacy challenges.

We use evidence-based teaching based on the Science of Literacy and methods such as Orton-Gillingham. Lessons may include phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, spelling, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing. Skills are taught directly, practiced often, and built one step at a time.

Instruction is individualized for each learner. We adjust lessons based on the student’s strengths, needs, interests, and progress. We also use games, hands-on activities, pictures and visuals, conversation, oral language activities, writing, and technology when they support learning.

Our goal is to help students build strong literacy skills while becoming more confident and independent learners.
