How HandinHand Has Grown

📖 HandinHand Reading Services began with my love of helping struggling readers. For 20 years, I have worked with students who learn in different ways. I have seen many bright, capable students struggle—not because they can't learn, but because they need to be taught in a way that works for them.

🌱 Over time, I learned that reading was only part of the picture. Many students also needed help with writing, executive functioning, organization, and understanding how they learn best. HandinHand grew as I learned new ways to meet those needs.

💜 I also learned that helping a student often means helping the adults around them. Today, I work with parents, homeschool families, and teachers to better understand learning needs, adjust curriculum, and find practical ways to help learners succeed.

💡 Technology and AI have opened even more doors. I use these tools to make learning more engaging, adjust lessons and curriculum, and help students work with challenging material. These tools support good teaching—they don't replace it.

At the heart of HandinHand is a simple belief: Every learner can make progress with the right instruction, tools, and support. I want students to think, “I can do this,” and the adults helping them to feel confident about what to do next.
